Welcome to Financial Zen.

posted in goal |

Excuse the mess while I work out the coding/layout issues.

I’ve created this site as my personal tracker - there was a lot of inspiration behind it (especially if you read a comment I made and found your way here - thanks for coming, you just came from my inspiration!). I’ll get all those great personal finance/personal hack sites added to the blog roll. I can’t recommend them enough!

Why am I doing this?

I need a place to track my journey and share everything I can about it. I’m in debt, like so many people today, in the usual way - I’ve got credit card debt, paying off student loans, and trying to save for retirement, while trying to balance leading a full life.

Who am I?
I’m 25, a student, married with a puppy and a baby on the way. I’ve had a strong art background which I’ve recently decided to refocus in the areas of finance. I’m not qualified anymore than you are to give advice - keep that in mind with so many sites out there today - I’m not a professional, I’m a student.

What works?
That’s exactly my goal. What does work? Perhaps more importantly, what doesn’t? We shall see.

Why not let us know what you think by adding your own comment! Your opinion is as valid as anyone elses, so come on... let us know what you think.

Glad to see a post here. :) I came by earlier and didn’t see anything and was just about to send you and email about it.

Good luck on this new venture.
Btw, when you say a “strong art background” do you mean like paintings (or fine art) or performing art?

Thanks, it’s taking me longer than I expected to get everything together, let alone start hashing out some article ideas - but an email to kick me into gear is never frowned upon!

My “Art Background” began with a lot of painting/drawing in high school, progressed into art studies in college - mainly graphic design, art history, and art appreciation. The kind of lead up to me studying web design in my free time which lead to my current career as a web designer.

Alas, the soul is fickle, so now I’m studying finance to try and get a better grasp (and because design has become less of a ‘joy’ and more of a ‘chore for work’).
